Why Choose TONFUL Aluminum Foil-Fiberglass Tape
Unbreakable Mechanical Strength
Standard aluminum foil tears easily during installation or under physical stress. By reinforcing the foil with a tightly woven fiberglass cloth (Aluglass), TONFUL tape offers massive tensile strength (≥ 200 N/25mm). It resists puncturing, tearing, and mechanical damage in the most demanding industrial environments.
Extreme Thermal Insulation & Reflection
Designed for heavy-duty thermal management, our tape reflects up to 97% of radiant heat. This significantly improves energy efficiency when wrapping HVAC ducts, hot/cold water pipes, and automotive exhaust shields, keeping cool systems cold and preventing heat loss in thermal systems.
Aggressive Solvent Acrylic Adhesive
We do not compromise on adhesion. Instead of cheap synthetic rubber, we utilize a premium solvent-based acrylic adhesive. This guarantees a powerful, instant tack that cures over time, maintaining a permanent bond even in high-humidity environments or extreme temperature fluctuations (-30°C to +150°C).
Ultimate Vapor & Moisture Barrier
With zero moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR), our aluminum-fiberglass composite acts as an impenetrable shield. It completely blocks out water, humidity, and corrosive chemical vapors, making it the perfect sealing solution for underground piping, marine equipment, and heavy industrial insulation.
UL Certified Flame Retardancy
Safety is non-negotiable in construction and HVAC projects. TONFUL tapes are engineered to meet strict international fire safety standards, including UL 723 and ASTM E84 (Class 1 Flame Retardant). They will not propagate fire, ensuring maximum safety for commercial building infrastructure.
Direct-Factory OEM & Custom Slitting
Why pay distributor markups? As a direct manufacturing factory, TONFUL controls the entire coating, laminating, and slitting process. We offer flexible OEM services, including custom widths, lengths, printed release liners with your brand logo, and highly competitive wholesale pricing for bulk importers.
Professional Selection Guide
Step 1: Determine the Temperature Environment
Assess the maximum operating temperature of your application. For standard HVAC and duct sealing, our solvent acrylic adhesive (up to +150°C) is perfect. For extreme environments like engine bays or industrial furnaces, specify our silicone-adhesive variants that withstand up to +260°C.
Step 2: Choose the Thickness and Tensile Requirement
Depending on the mechanical stress the tape will endure, select the appropriate backing thickness. A thicker fiberglass mesh offers higher puncture resistance for heavy-duty pipe wrapping, while a thinner profile provides better flexibility for wrapping complex, irregular joints.
Step 3: Specify Tape Dimensions (Width & Length)
We offer precision custom slitting. Standard widths include 50mm (2 inches), 75mm (3 inches), and 100mm (4 inches). For large surface coverage or specialized automated wrapping machines, we can provide jumbo rolls up to 1200mm in width.
Step 4: Verify the Surface Preparation
To achieve the promised performance, the adhesive requires a proper substrate. Ensure the surface of the duct or pipe is completely dry, clean, and free of oil, dust, or rust before application. Using a squeegee during application ensures the pressure-sensitive adhesive achieves maximum bite.
Step 5: Check Fire and Safety Certifications
For commercial HVAC ductwork and building insulation, local codes strictly require flame-retardant materials. Always request our UL 723 / ASTM E84 testing reports to ensure the tape complies with your regional fire marshal or building inspector’s requirements.
Step 6: Request Custom OEM Packaging
If you are a distributor, maximize your brand visibility. Contact the TONFUL sales team to request OEM customization. We can print your company logo on the inner paper core, customize the release liner, and package the rolls in retail-ready shrink wrap or branded cartons.

Frequently Asked Questions
We have compiled some common questions from our clients. If your question isn’t included here, our customer service is always available to help. We’d love to talk with you.
Q1: What is the difference between standard aluminum foil tape and aluminum fiberglass tape?
Standard aluminum foil tape is made of pure foil; it is easy to tear by hand and can puncture easily on sharp edges. Aluminum fiberglass tape (Aluglass) has a woven fiberglass cloth laminated to the foil. It is incredibly strong, cannot be easily torn by hand, and is designed for heavy-duty mechanical protection and structural integrity.
Q2: Can I use this tape outdoors in direct sunlight?
Yes. The pure aluminum foil outer layer acts as an excellent UV reflector. This protects the adhesive and the underlying fiberglass from UV degradation, making it highly durable for outdoor pipe insulation, rooftop HVAC ducting, and exterior vapor barrier sealing.
Q3: Why do you use solvent acrylic adhesive instead of synthetic rubber?
While synthetic rubber (hot melt) adhesive is cheaper and has a quick initial stick, it fails miserably in high temperatures and humid environments. TONFUL uses solvent acrylic adhesive because it cures to a permanent bond, resists moisture, and performs flawlessly in extreme temperature swings without peeling or degrading.
Q4: Do I need a special tool to cut this tape?
Because of the high-tensile fiberglass mesh, this tape cannot be easily torn by hand like standard foil tapes. Installers will need a sharp utility knife or heavy-duty scissors to cut the tape cleanly to the desired length during application.
Q5: Do you offer custom die-cut shapes for manufacturing lines?
Absolutely. Beyond standard rolls, our factory is equipped with precision die-cutting machinery. If you need specific shapes or pads of aluminum fiberglass tape for automotive heat shields or appliance manufacturing, simply send us your CAD drawings for a custom quote.
