Why Choose TONFUL Stainless Steel Cable Ties

Premium AISI 304 & 316 Grade Steel

We do not cut corners on metallurgy. TONFUL manufactures ties using strictly graded stainless steel. Our 304-grade offers excellent general-purpose rust resistance, while our 316-grade contains molybdenum, providing absolute immunity to pitting and corrosion in saltwater marine and harsh chemical environments.

Indestructible Ball Bearing Lock

Our signature internal locking mechanism features a precision-machined stainless steel roller ball. As the tie is tensioned, the ball wedges tightly against the strap, creating an infinite-adjustment, self-locking grip that will never slip, back out, or vibrate loose under heavy industrial machinery operation.

Extreme Temperature & Fire Resistance

Safety is paramount in critical infrastructure. Unlike plastics that melt and spread fire, our uncoated stainless steel cable ties can continuously operate in extreme temperatures ranging from cryogenic lows of -80°C to furnace-like highs of +538°C (1000°F). They are entirely fireproof.

Superior Tensile Strength

Designed for heavy payloads. Our standard 4.6mm width ties easily support over 200 lbs of holding force, while our heavy-duty 7.9mm (and wider) profiles deliver a crushing 450+ lbs of loop tensile strength, making them ideal for lashing heavy armored cables and securing heavy pipes.

Safe, Rolled Edges for Cable Protection

A common flaw in cheap metal ties is sharp, stamped edges that slice through cable insulation and cut the installer's hands. TONFUL stainless ties undergo a specialized smoothing process to create fully rounded, snag-free edges, protecting your expensive wire harnesses and your workforce.

Factory-Direct OEM & Global Scalability

By operating our own massive metal stamping and automated assembly lines, we completely eliminate the middleman. We offer unmatched flexibility for bulk industrial distributors, including customized lengths, specialty epoxy coatings, custom-branded packaging, and highly competitive wholesale pricing.

Professional Selection Guide

Step 1: Select the Proper Steel Grade

Analyze the installation environment. For indoor, outdoor, or standard underground applications, AISI 304 is the cost-effective choice. If the ties will be exposed to seawater, salt spray (offshore rigs), or highly acidic/caustic chemicals, you must specify AISI 316 marine-grade steel.

Step 2: Choose Uncoated vs. Coated

Uncoated metal ties are perfect for standard structural fastening. However, if you are binding dissimilar metals (to prevent galvanic corrosion) or require an extra layer of protection against highly aggressive chemical fumes, choose our Black Epoxy or Polyester-Coated ties.

Step 3: Determine the Required Tensile Strength

Calculate the weight and stress the ties will bear. Standard width (4.6mm / 0.18") handles up to 200 lbs and is suitable for most electrical wiring. For heavy pipelines, solar racking, or severe vibration zones, upgrade to the heavy-duty width (7.9mm / 0.31") for 450+ lbs of strength.

Step 4: Measure the Maximum Bundle Diameter

Unlike elastic nylon ties, stainless steel does not stretch. Carefully measure the outer diameter of your cable or pipe bundle and select a tie length that provides at least an extra 2 inches (50mm) of tail length to allow for comfortable insertion into the tensioning tool.

Step 5: Verify the Locking Mechanism

For fast, permanent installation, our Self-Locking Ball Bearing ties are the industry standard. If you anticipate needing to open and re-secure the bundle in the future for maintenance, be sure to request our specialized Releasable Metal Ties.

Step 6: Use the Right Installation Tools

While you can hand-thread metal ties, you cannot achieve maximum tension without a tool. Always ensure your installation crews are equipped with professional Stainless Steel Cable Tie Tensioning and Cutting guns for a flush, secure, and safe cut without leaving sharp metal tails.

Frequently Asked Questions

We have compiled some common questions from our clients. If your question isn’t included here, our customer service is always available to help. We’d love to talk with you.

Q1: What is the main difference between 304 and 316 stainless steel cable ties?

The key difference is corrosion resistance. Type 304 contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel, making it excellent for general outdoor and industrial use. Type 316 adds molybdenum to the alloy, which provides vastly superior resistance to chlorides (like salt water and de-icing salts) and industrial chemicals.

Q2: Do I absolutely need a special tool to install these ties?

While you can feed the tail through the lock and pull it hand-tight, we highly recommend using a specialized Stainless Steel Cable Tie Tool. The tool applies consistent, high-leverage tension and cleanly cuts the excess metal tail flush with the head, eliminating sharp edges that could cause injury.

Q3: Why should I choose the epoxy-coated version?

Epoxy-coated stainless steel ties offer three main benefits: 1) They prevent galvanic corrosion when binding cables to galvanized or aluminum structures. 2) The coating provides an extra barrier against harsh chemicals. 3) They are softer on fragile cable insulation (like fiber optics) compared to bare metal.

Q4: Can these ball-lock metal cable ties be loosened or reused?

No. The standard self-locking ball bearing mechanism is designed for a permanent, one-way installation. Once tensioned, the internal roller ball wedges aggressively against the strap. If you need reusable metal ties, you must specifically order our Releasable Stainless Steel Tie models.

Q5: Do you offer OEM packaging for industrial hardware distributors?

Yes! As a source manufacturer, we offer complete OEM customization. We can package the stainless steel ties in custom quantities (e.g., bags of 50 or 100), print your brand logo and part numbers on the heavy-duty polybags, and provide white-label cartons ready for retail distribution.
