Frequently Asked Questions
We have compiled some common questions from our clients. If your question isn’t included here, our customer service is always available to help. We’d love to talk with you.
Q1: What is the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) for custom non-standard fasteners?
A: Our MOQ depends on the manufacturing process. For CNC turning parts, we can accommodate lower quantities (e.g., prototyping runs of 500-1,000 pcs). For high-volume cold-forged parts, the MOQ is typically higher to offset tooling costs. Contact us with your drawing for a specific quote.
Q2: What file formats do you accept for custom engineering drawings?
A: We accept 2D drawings in PDF or CAD (.dwg, .dxf) format, and 3D models in STEP (.stp) or IGES (.igs) format. Please ensure material specifications and required tolerances are clearly noted.
Q3: What materials and surface finishes can Tonful provide?
A: We work with a wide range of materials including Stainless Steel (304/316), Carbon Steel, Brass, Copper, and Aluminum. Surface treatments include Zinc plating, Nickel plating, Black Oxide, Anodizing, and Dacromet coating for extreme corrosion resistance.
Q4: How long does it take to develop a new custom rivet or CNC part?
A: Typically, tooling and sample production take 10 to 15 days, depending on the complexity of the part. Once the sample is approved by you, mass production usually takes 15 to 25 days.
Q5: Can you provide PPAP or material test reports?
A: Yes. As an ISO-certified manufacturer, we can provide Material Mill Certificates, RoHS compliance declarations, and full inspection reports (including dimensional and salt spray test results) upon request.
